Jadranka Gros

Jadranka KLABUČAR Gros was born in Zagreb, Croatia, in 1955, where she
completed the entire education and graduated from the Faculty of Economics in
Zagreb in 1978.
During university studies she writes poems (for “her soul”) that were periodically
published in different journals and magazines.
During the school time and later on she learns different languages. Today Jadranka
speaks six languages, from which she occasionally translates literature.
In 1990 she moved with her husband and two sons to Vienna, where she founded the
family company and has been running it ever since.
The need to stay in contact with her homeland and her mother tongue makes her
embrace her first love – writing poetry and short stories. She participates in various
literary events, including the love poetry recital “Zeljka Boc” in Marija Bistrica near
Zagreb in 2005, where she gets second award, and in 2007 one of three recognitions
for her poetry.
Jadranka’s poems have been published in several poetry anthologies in Croatia:
“Hrvatski sabor kulture”, “Vrazova Ljubica”, “Podravka's collection “of best
unpublished love poems, poetry collections “Rešetarački susreti“ and in two
anthologies of the Austrian bilingual poetry of foreigners in 2006 and 2008.
Another book of poetry is ready for printing.
Jadranka has been highly engaged in the promotion of children's literary and artistic
creativity in Austria, Croatia as well as in some other countries. She organized several
international art exhibitions in Vienna, Zagreb, Budapest, Tel Aviv on the subject of
children's creativity.
With a few other enthusiasts she founded the Association for Culture “WORD-
COLOR-SOUND” in 2005 in Vienna with the aim to promote writers, actors, painters,
musicians and photographers from the South East Europe as well as artists from
