A fellow of the Contemporary British Writer Programme, Cambridge University, UK, Ziaul Karim is a prolific writer and internationally published art critic. He has published essays and art reviews in The Daily Star, Journal of Commonwealth Literature, World Literature Today, NuktaArt, Art India, Asian Art News, and Depart. He is also a brand specialist. He is the co-editor of the book Inclusive Finance and Sustainable Development by Bangladesh Central Bank Governor Atiur Rahman. He was literary and cultural editor with the premier English daily of Bangladesh The Daily Star for over a decade. In 2001 he played a key role in launching ICE Today, first ever English lifestyle magazine in Bangladesh. At the same time he launched international art magazine Jamini, also a first in Bangladesh. He is currently head of Brand and Communication of Eastern Bank Limited. He has received training on Sponsorship Evaluation under William Fenton, author of The Sponsorship Handbook, at Abu Dhabi. He has curated the Art Hub project for Grameenphone and was a member of Grameenphone Arts and Culture Committee in 2010.
