I am an easy-going, person who fits easily in to new situations. I have an ambitious, innovative nature which makes me strive for the best in my work. I consider myself passionate about art and photography, and I am dedicated to getting a result that delivers an impact for my clients or employers. I care about my subject matter, and have my personal own style that brings out the absolute best in people.

You will find me technically skilled with the best equipment, tools and software for the job. I am detail oriented, with exceptional hand to eye coordination - these traits, along with creativity, flexibility, and being personable and professional with people offers a heady mix of vision, originality, and enterprise for the people I work with.

People describe me as open-minded, someone who enjoys a challenge and experiencing new things. The cultural experiences I have gained whilst travelling have given me additional insight into my art and life.

Career History

2015-2016:-The Learning Connection-Completion of my Diploma Art Honours.

2016-The Real Opotiki Art Exhibition-A group exhibition showcasing artists affiliated to the Opotiki area. This was held at Studio One, Ponsonby in Auckland.

2016: Whakatane Creative Communities Grant-Free art classes in the school holidays with a photography children's exhibition at Taneatua,Matata,Te Mahoe and Waimana.Free art for children at Art on the Lake Project for the summer arts in 2017.

2016-Rotary Sunshine on Canvas-involvement with organisation,art appreciation,art work shops for children and adults,art displays of children's work and my work as part of the group exhibition

2016:Molly Morpeth Canaday Award(painting and drawing)

I won the local artists award for my painting titled-Gothic Mood.
This is an international and New Zealand wide competition. It is a huge achievement to have your work selected and to win an amazing local artists award.

2016-Photographer for Women’s Weekly and Women’s Day
This year I have been employed as a photographer for magazine work This will be photographing stories locally and throughout the Bay of Plenty area.

2016- Toi Mana/ Art Power (art business) WOMAD

Toi mana has been accepted to do art workshops for WOMAD this March.
We will be in the Kids Zone creating a kiwi Ana themed pastel creations for a huge exhibition display on day one. Day two we will be creating masks for the children to wear for the final parade. We aim to do this throughout the world. The next Womad festival will be in Adelaide, Australia.

2016- The Learning Connection Diploma in Arts and Creativity (Honours)

The Honours programme is self-driven producing work in line with my own personal goals. For example, I want to create a caravan into a darkroom set up to travel throughout New Zealand taking photographs. This will be with my Rolle flex camera to create a book. I am also producing work for two major exhibitions that I have lined up and two different galleries next year. I am also selling my work at galleries locally and throughout New Zealand.

2015- Te Koputu Whakatane Gallery -children’s art

I am employed by the Whakatane Gallery and exhibition centre to do art workshops inspired by a mini arts appreciation talk beforehand. These are held every school holidays and during the summer break Toi Mana/Art Power presented a very successful public opening of a children’s exhibition and now do this on a regular basis.

Afterschool art class business launched and very successful and popular.
We also do a holiday art programme during each of the holidays. We now have a waiting list of children who want to attend our classes.

2015 - Travelling Art Teacher – Endorsed by REAP Bay of Plenty

Travelling throughout the Eastern Bay and East Cape delivering inspirational art and photography workshops to schools. I am also operating an after school art class business and aim to take this show on the road throughout New Zealand with a themed Van Gogh ‘Starry Night’ car.

Regular reliever at Whakatane Intermediate School, Otakeri School, and others in the area teaching a variety of levels.

2014 - Visual Arts Teacher – Full Time
Whakatane Intermediate School
Full-time arts programme following the NZ curriculum, over a wide variety of mediums and topics including: Murals, exhibition space, art intensives, after school art club.

2014 - At Carrousel du Louvre, in Paris October 25 and 26 I exhibited my latest art in an exhibition entitled Te Puawaitanga -the blossoming through the journey.
Our same work was also exhibited Te Koputu, Whakatane Art Gallery.I sold two pieces of my art in Paris.

2012- 2013 - Primary Teacher
Full time teaching in the Middle East – Kuwait
This was a challenging cultural environment to work in with many opportunities to encourage students to excel and explore their creativity.

I ran my own photography business for 12 years over a range of themes including: family portraits, corporate photography, and specialised projects for magazines such as North and South

Prior to this I worked as a Primary Teacher full time for 15 years, I have also run an adult night school art, photo shop and photography for adults, and an art and photography school for children
