I have joined the World Art Games because I love the concept of making art available to everyone, inspiring people from all walks of life to be creative and discover their inner artist.
My particular interests are:
Street Art / Urban Art, Drawing (ink, pencil, charcoal)
Photography
Architecture, stand-alone and combined with landscape
English and Italian Gardens
The natural art in Plants and Landscapes
Music, especially Jazz
Observational Humour in creative form, e.g. the late German Poet, Eugen Roth
Folklore, the art of Traditional Costumes

From an early age, I have been intrigued by the art of storytelling and felt that immersing myself in a story was like coming home. In my early teens I discovered poetry and fell in love with poetic ballads from the era of the German Enlightenment. For a while, I composed poems as presents for friends and family, which seemed relatively easy in my native German tongue. When I, however, tried my skill at poetry in English, I struggled and realised that true poetry comes from the core of one’s heart.

After finishing school in Austria, I qualified as a chef, which has given me a skill I treasure. To me, food is an inherent part of any culture, expressive of history, religion and lifestyle. It can be a medium for sculptural and culinary art and always holds the key to bringing people together in the most affable way.

In my mid-twenties, I moved to South-West England, which I adore, and studied English Literature with History and modules in Popular Culture, at Plymouth University. My dissertation materialised in the shape of a Radio Play, as yet unpublished.

I became a linguist and have several years of experience in translation and teaching, both in schools and private tuition. While teaching has never been my main career choice, I enjoy it immensely and have a particular interest in Learning Development, Special Needs and Behavioural Issues.

Never letting go of my early professional roots, I joined forces with Vanessa Garside, to co-found an Event Organisation Business that aims to bring cultural diversity to our town, with a focus on introducing global foods and culture in a setting of personal hospitality and community.

I look forward to experiencing my first visit to the World Art Games in Croatia this summer .
