Richard is a highly experienced creative entrepreneur, practitioner and educationalist who has provided significant contribution to arts and creative development internationally. He promotes a ‘can do’ approach to everything he does which in turn motivates people to get involved with inspiring projects and instills
confidence in those people involved.
As Centre manager and co-founder of the Creative Innovation Centre CIC in Taunton he works with a highly talented team to provide support for social enterprises and the promotion of the creative sector regionally.
He gained a fellowship of Creative Enterprise through the Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Plymouth University and has extensive knowledge nationally and internationally in curriculum design, delivery, management, quality assurance and accreditation.
Over the past 15 years he has been involved in key strategic creative sector development regionally through the development of Somerset Design Enterprise network, South West Design Forum, Universities South West’s 'Creative Industries Special Interest Group, Creative Somerset and the Exeter Cultural
partnership.
In recent years he has been Arts and Design Manager at Exeter College and Curriculum manager of Arts and Design at Somerset College. As well as managing the new Creative Innovation Centre CIC, Richard also delivers innovation development programmes, exhibitions and events across all sectors supporting social enterprise development in the region. As a designer he has created and designed a wide range of products from financial interface terminals for the stock exchange to mass and low batch produced lighting and interior furnishings.
